How this base is built
Three sources, cited row by row. The State mercuriale and unit price schedules for works; real quotes collected in Cameroon for what tradespeople actually charge; a supplier price survey in Douala and Yaoundé for materials. The base is dated and republished monthly: a 2024 concrete price is useless in 2026.
Labour
Structural labour billed as a lump sum normally represents 18 to 30 % of the materials subtotal. Above that, the line is worth discussing. A “sundries and contingency” line rarely exceeds 5 % of the quote total.
Other cities
Bafoussam, Bamenda and Garoua are priced off the Yaoundé base; Kribi off Douala. We say so rather than invent a survey we did not run.
What this base does not tell you
A band is not a fair price for your site. Distance, site access, finish quality and a material's brand all legitimately move a price. A gap is a fact; what it means is for you and the tradesperson to discuss. That is why every report ends with a negotiation message, not an accusation.
